What is on this unicorn in a flower garden coloring page?

A smiling unicorn stands in the foreground with one front leg raised. Its long mane falls in curved sections along the neck, and its tail curls beside the hind legs. A striped horn rises above its forehead. A heart and two stars decorate its side, while separate outlines mark the hooves.

A winding path passes beneath the unicorn and continues toward a castle on the right. Three pointed towers carry flags with heart emblems. Arched windows and heart-decorated doors add smaller spaces to color. Behind the scene, a large rainbow curves between clouds, with scattered hearts and stars around it.

Flowers, buds, leaves and grass fill the foreground. A flowering tree stands on the left, with bushes near the castle. Look at the complete picture together before starting. Your child might choose the unicorn first, focus on one flower or begin with a rainbow band. There is no need to finish every detail at once.

Five creative ideas for your unicorn garden

1. Give the mane and tail a shared palette

Choose two or three shades for the unicorn’s hair. Follow the curved sections with light pencil strokes, then repeat the same colors in the tail. Pink, lavender and blue create one gentle combination; orange, yellow and red offer a warmer alternative. Test the shades on spare paper first.

Keep the body pale if you want the mane to stand out, or choose a stronger fantasy color for the entire unicorn. Give the horn’s bands alternating shades and use a separate accent on the hooves. As an imaginary character, this unicorn has no required color scheme.

2. Build a garden with repeating flower colors

Begin with one large flower near the bottom of the picture. Choose a petal color and a contrasting center, then look for another flower that could share the same combination. Repeating a few colors across the garden connects the separate blooms without making every flower identical.

Compare the open flowers with the closed buds and the rose-like bloom on the lower right. These different outlines invite different coloring choices. Use light and dark greens on selected leaves, or keep all the leaves one shade. A child can complete just a small flower group and stop there.

3. Connect the unicorn and castle with matching details

Choose one accent color for the heart on the unicorn’s side. Repeat it on the castle door hearts and flag emblems. Add a second shade to the unicorn’s stars or the tower roofs. This gives the characters and background a shared palette without requiring many pencils.

Color the castle one tower at a time. Pale walls can help brighter roofs stand out, while lightly shaded windows preserve their small internal lines. Let your child decide whether all three flags should match or whether each tower belongs to a different imaginary character.

4. Follow the rainbow and winding path

Give each visible rainbow band a different shade, using a familiar sequence or an invented palette. Work from one end of a band toward the other in short sections. The clouds can stay white or receive light shading around their edges. There is no need to fill the whole sky.

Follow the path with a finger held just above the paper, starting near the bottom and moving toward the castle entrance. Choose a soft tan, gray or imaginative color for it. Keep its edges visible so it remains separate from the garden on either side.

5. Find shapes and invent a garden adventure

Look for hearts in several places: on the unicorn, in the sky and on the castle. Compare one large heart with a smaller one, or count a manageable group of stars. Point to each shape once and let your child check the drawing at their own pace.

Next, imagine where the unicorn is going. Perhaps it is visiting the castle, choosing flowers for a celebration or meeting a friend beside the tree. These are invented stories inspired by the picture. Let your child name the unicorn and describe what happens first, next and last.

An adult can write a dictated caption on a separate sheet. Display it beside the finished artwork or save both in an activity folder. A second print can become a different garden with a new palette and another adventure.

Start with a small palette: choose three favorite colors for the mane, flowers and castle accents. Add green or a background shade when needed.

How to save and print the unicorn garden picture

  1. Select Download Coloring Image to access the original WebP file. If it opens in your browser, use its save-image option.
  2. Select Print Coloring Page to use the site’s image-printing tool. If it is unavailable, open the full-size image and print from your browser.
  3. Choose portrait orientation and A4 or US Letter paper. Use fit-to-page scaling to preserve the original proportions.
  4. Check that the top clouds, unicorn, castle and bottom flowers remain visible in the preview before printing.

The original file measures 1055 × 1491 pixels. Its proportions are close to A4 portrait paper, while US Letter may leave different margins. Avoid stretching the picture to remove white space. Enlarging it does not create additional detail and can soften the outlines.

Crayons work well for the unicorn’s body and larger castle areas. Colored pencils offer more control around flower petals, narrow hair sections and small hearts. Test markers on spare paper and place a protective sheet underneath. Choose paper supported by your printer and print one test copy before making several.
