The small cartoon dinosaur stands on four feet with a rounded frill around its head. Two horns rise above the eyes and another sits on the nose. Circular spots appear on its back, and a curved tail extends behind it. The large eyes and open smile give the drawing a friendly expression.
Choose one color for the body and another for the frill. Soft green with a darker green frill is one possibility; purple and orange create an imaginary combination. Keep the horns light or choose a contrasting shade so their outlines are easy to follow against the head.
Coloring and activity ideas
Choose contrasting colors
The outlined spots are useful places for a repeated pattern. Color them in alternating shades or give each spot a different color. Compare the shape of a spot with the curves around the frill. There is no need to decide what color a real dinosaur was: this is an imaginative cartoon.
Explore a distinctive detail
Use the horns for a simple observation game. Point to each visible horn and compare the horn on the nose with those above the eyes. Then follow the outer edge of the frill with a finger. Look for the smaller curves along its edge and choose a pencil that fits those spaces.
Look and compare
Make a texture experiment on spare paper before coloring the dinosaur. Try short dots, gentle parallel lines and a smooth layer of pencil. Pick one approach for the frill and another for the broad body. Leave the drawn eyes and smile visible when adding color around the face.
Try a pattern or observation game
Invite your child to invent a name and a story for the character. Perhaps it is taking a walk or looking for a friend; these are imagined events and are not shown in the picture. Write a short caption separately, or simply tell the story aloud while coloring.
Tell a story
For an extra drawing challenge, add an imaginary landscape around the dinosaur after printing. Any plants or mountains are new additions, not existing details in this picture. A child may also color only the frill and come back for the feet or spots another day.
Choose one idea to begin and let the child decide how much of the image to finish. A small detail can be satisfying on its own, and the rest can wait for another day. Keep a few colors nearby and add more only when they are wanted.
Saving and printing your picture
Use the download link to access the original WebP image. If the file opens in your browser instead of saving, use the browser’s save-image option. The print button uses the site’s image-printing tool. If that tool is unavailable or a popup is blocked, open the full-size image and use the browser’s own print command.
Choose portrait orientation and A4 or US Letter paper, then select fit to page. Check the preview before printing: keep the whole drawing and the website name visible. Preserve the image’s proportions instead of stretching it to fill the paper; some margins may remain depending on the paper and printer.
The original measures 735 × 1022 pixels. Enlarging the picture does not add detail and can make outlines softer. Try a single copy first and adjust the scale if needed. Ordinary printer paper works with many crayons and pencils; test markers on spare paper and place a protective sheet underneath.
For another activity, explore the farm animals by a barn coloring page or browse the coloring pages collection. Compare a group scene with this single character, or choose a completely different subject together.
